How To Make Your Own Knitting Pattern Using KPG Knitting Pattern Maker

First you need to pick a image...I like using coloring pictures or pixel images...Decrease the color for coloring pages if you are doing them in black & white to 2 colors...For a pixel image or if you color the coloring page you can use Gimp to reduce the number of colors.

To Reduce the number of colors go to: Colors > Posterize & reduce the number of colors...
If it will not posterize then you need to go to edit > copy visible  Then go to Edit > paste as > New Image
Then reduce the number of colors: Colors > Posterize & reduce the number of colors...

Then go to Image > Mode > Indexed > with the maximum  colors you want to use > convert... I chose to save my image with 3 colors...Save the image as .png in the folder where you will be saving your knitting pattern you make...

Now you are all set to make your knitting pattern using KPG Knitting Pattern Generator... To do this load the image in the KPG Knitting Pattern Generator & Viola you have made your knitting pattern:)
